Career Talk Series with Daniela Scholten

On the 26 February 2018 we hosted Daniela Scholten, who talked about Project Management. After telling us about her journey from the bench as a PhD student to the Scientific Management office of international institutions like TRON and IMB, she led us through the possibilities offered by this job.
Her days are split between coordination of projects, organisation of meetings and their follow up, grants writing, website, recruitment of candidates for the programs, etc. She has found her dream job in helping other scientists to grab the best opportunities to improve their scientific work. Organised, with good time management, a good communication, independent and capable of working with heterogeneous teams: this is the profile of the project manager in academia. But above all, keen on undertaking the role of service person for other professionals.
Quite an interesting career choice for PhDs who want to help other scientists to get the most from their work. Unless you have problems keeping yourself organised.
