Light Microscopy Core Facility at IMB

Scientific Talks with Sandra Ritz

On 15 October Sandra Ritz gave us insights into her work as head of a Core Facility. You’ll know her indeed if you have ever used microscopes at IMB. After telling us some interesting facts about the different Core Facilities at IMB, especially the Light Microscopy group, she talked about all the different microscopy methods offered by them. As head or member of a (Microscopy) Core Facility her work is very versatile: you are responsible for operability of all microscopes and machines, give lectures and courses about different techniques, work on scientific collaborations and write grants, attend conferences and workshops to learn new techniques and methods and, last but not least, perform full services starting from sample preparation up to data analysis.
