Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds

NGC opened 2019 with a talk on funding opportunities on 7 February. The Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds, a private foundation aimed at the promotion of basic research, offers Phd Fellowships, MD Fellowships and Travel Grants to applicants from the field of life sciences. Maria Placentino and George Yakoub, who in the past successfully applied for the PhD Fellowship, explained the requirements and application procedure for these grants. Moreover, they told us about the networking and training opportunities offered to researchers awarder with a fellowship – from yearly retreats to science communication trainings, to Alumni network events.
